Positively Quitting:

Positively quitting:
When do we give up? Quitting is not supposed to be in our vocabulary. Our culture celebrates those who soldier on despite hardships, ups and downs and pure adversity. But sometimes the wisest course of action is to say that we’ve put enough of our heart and soul into something that we no longer have the energy to try to sustain, and stop. Life gives us only so many moments. If we spend them on endeavors or people that drain us – either our emotions, our resources or our souls – at a certain point we’re wasting our lives. Quitting is not failing – it’s knowing when it’s time to pack it up and move on to something else. We don’t have to sustain our passion for one thing despite all odds. It’s a big world – there’s more to do and much more to love. Life is all about infinite possibilities and the journey…

Beautiful Future….

In 20 years owning a car will be like owning a horse, amazing evolution of transportation and efficiency is under way and the Planet and the environment need it so much..
Uber and the like are already transforming transportation from a product industry to a service industry. This also represents an economic transition from focus a on possession to a focus on access. Add self-driving technology to the kind of network Uber is prototyping – with computer load balancing on vehicle distribution – and we have ubiquitous access to transportation, that can be made (nearly) accident free and emission free…while radically lowering traffic load and decreasing the total amount of cars needed by a factor of almost 20 (just the amount of cars for peak need time, all in full utilization [with service a buffer], rather than the average car spending 95% of its time sitting). This means 1/ 20th of the physical materials need to be taken from the earth for vehicles, with no emissions, power-able by renewable energy, free from accidents and traffic jams, while freeing human time and attention for more creative tasks. And by the way, the status associated with car possession is now gone.

Now imagine the result of this kind of process in every industry and sector: products to services, possession to access, less total resources providing greater utility through intelligent sharing, problem solving through technological innovation that obsoletes the need for political/ legal management tactics (traffic laws, tickets, etc.), technological automation of rote and dangerous tasks protecting people and freeing them for more meaningful focuses, increasing economic equality and decreasing status focus and differential advantage…

Technological automation and an access rather than possession based economy obsolete the need for private ownership and jobs….obsolete the need for systems of extrinsic incentive to get the people to do the jobs society needs done…so now we can systemically focus on optimizing for the intrinsic incentive of all humans…optimizing for real quality of life and unique creative purpose… Once the jobs no longer need the people, we can create a common wealth economics where the people no longer need the jobs, and a higher level of meaningful material capability is available to everyone than even the wealthiest people have ever experienced heretofore, with a far smaller resource load on the earth.

This also removes the structures that condition greed and selfishness: when having (access to) everything is a given for everyone from birth, and scarcity isn’t the starting point, and gaining more isn’t relevant or even possible, so there is no status conferred or individuation through getting/having…it becomes totally uninteresting. Instead, differentiation occurs only through creativity. The fruits of which are instantly a benefit to the entire commonwealth. Which makes us all personally invested in each other’s creativity and want for their success…changing the economic structural drivers of competition to drivers of simultaneous individuation and symbiosis. This also removes the basis for laziness, which comes from forcing kids to do uninteresting things, while not facilitating their actual interests (thereby breaking their interest in life), to prepare them for a life of being (economically) forced to do uninteresting jobs that they would rather spend less of their small time alive doing if they could. Removing the differential advantage system also removes the major conditioning factor for ubiquitous low grade psychopathy…allowing empathy and care to actually mature and be fostered in all people.

This is all possible. And happening. We are in the beginning stages of the transition – technologies like these are the beginning of capitalism obsoleting itself – technologies that have capitalist competitive advantage, that unknowingly undermine the basis for capitalism (private capital ownership with inexorably increasing differential advantage), and make possible a new higher-order system never before possible.

Happy Days…

Positive Results

Positive results:
What is bad or good, wrong or right? We’re the ones who decide. When something that we didn’t want to happen happens, if we label it bad, it will be bad in our thoughts and we may react accordingly. But most of us have had something ‘bad’ happen to us that we’ve realized later was actually the best thing that could have happened. Maybe it was a job we didn’t get that left space for a much better job or a relationship that didn’t work out that we realize in hindsight would have been miserable had it continued or a health condition that changed our life goals. What’s good or bad isn’t always immediately apparent so passing judgment on the events in our lives isn’t really in our best interests. Instead, when the unexpected happens, if we go with the flow and do our best with what we know, its impact will stay reasonable, we won’t overreact and life will go on until the next thing shows up!

Positive Change in the World

Many of us want to see change in the world and we’d love to make a difference but when we consider the enormous problems out there it’s intimidating and, as one little person, we can feel powerless. It’s understandable to feel like we can’t make a difference; but what we may not realize is we already have and we do every day. Every time we treat someone with Kindness, every time we share knowledge, every time we send a Positive thought someone’s direction, and every time we lend a hand we’re initiating Positive motion which ripples and spreads through other people. We CREATE positive energy with our thoughts, words and actions – and the more we bring into being, the more there is to propagate. In that way, we have more power than we can imagine and we can, in fact, change the World.

Positive Uniqueness:

We each bring something unique and special to this world. When we choose to be our authentic selves, we attract the people and circumstances that are naturally compatible with us. Being honest about who we are creates opportunities for others to truly get to know the real us, which brings us closer relationships based on truth. Appreciating who and where we are gives us peace, confidence and the freedom to make choices based on our deepest desires. Making the best of our lives by living our truth allows us to Shine, and the Light we emit can inspire others and, quite possibly, change the world. Shine Brightly and Live every day with Love and Gratitude….Light-3

Positively Letting go and saying Goodbye.

Positively Letting go and saying Goodbye….
We must be able to say goodbye, even when we don’t want to. Clinging to things that no longer are available to us doesn’t do us any good – it only causes pain. Although true detachment is extremely difficult, we must have the maturity and strength to keep going despite our love for what was. Letting go and moving on doesn’t mean that we forget; instead, it means that we accept that something wonderful in our lives has transformed to a wonderful memory and it will live on in it’s new form for as long as we want. Everything has it’s time and place – understanding that something or someone has had their time in our lives will bring us peace and understanding of the ever changing world we live in.

Shine Your Own Light

Shine your own light:

You will sometimes meet someone you believe is a soulmate; you feel the connection on many levels, perhaps instantly. And as you get to know each other more, you begin to feel the connection deepen and you feel that you must have an arrangement with this person that predated this lifetime.

Do not assume, however, that this soul connection necessarily means that you are meant to be happily together for this lifetime. It may be that you are meant to be friends and allies, helping each other out. It may be that you are going to help each other in ways that even involve conflict and separation, but with an end result that is beneficial to you. It may be that you are going to learn some lesson from each other and then go your separate ways.
What you need to do with all relationships, including those that have that instant and deep connection, is let be. You need to allow all of life, including close relationships, flow and evolve. You need to let people be who they are, not what you want them to be. And above all, you must not try to control, push and prod, manipulate and orchestrate relationships.
Have the courage and the heart, the centeredness, to follow your own path, to be who you are and love being who you are, no matter what. Shine out and show us who you are, so that people who are looking for someone exactly like you can find you. Do not allow setbacks or even major betrayals to dampen your shine and your being.
In life’s journey you will encounter much, narrow paths blocked by avalanches, forks in the road shrouded in fog, deep valleys of darkness and bright sunny days in meadows of golden poppies. It is all a part of life. And as you walk your path, other people will join you for a time: a dear friend, a lover, a spouse, children and parents. And then they may go away.
And through it all, the only constant is that you are you, that you have a core of truth within you and a path to walk, and if you allow your core of truth to tell you which fork in the road to take, if you allow that internal compass to tell you which mountain to climb, then you will do well indeed and have a fulfilling, interesting life.
If you go chasing after others, trying to make things be other than how they naturally are, then you will find yourself suddenly awakening in a deep forest without knowing where to turn. You will find yourself lost and confused, because you have lost touch with your own personal truth.
And when this happens, you must just sit down in the forest, become very still, and return to yourself. You must reach down and find yourself again before you continue walking, or else you will simply go around in circles, becoming more desperate and alone and lost.
You are everything you need to be, just as you are, right now. You are the center of your own life. You are the beacon that shines and shows the way.
Be glad when others walk beside you, enjoy their company, connect as closely and deeply as you can, but always, always, shine your own light and walk your own path and allow them to do the same.light

Loneliness versus Aloneness

“Loneliness is a negative state of mind. Aloneness is positive, notwithstanding what the dictionaries say. In dictionaries, loneliness and aloneness are synonyms – in life they are not. Loneliness is a state of mind where you are constantly missing the other. Aloneness is a state of mind where you are constantly delighted in yourself. Loneliness is miserable. Aloneness is blissful. Loneliness is always worried, missing something, hankering for something, desiring something. Aloneness is a deep fulfillment, not going out, tremendously content, happy, celebrating. In loneliness you are off center. In aloneness you are centered and rooted.

Aloneness is beautiful. it has an elegance about it, a grace, a climate of tremendous satisfaction. Loneliness is beggarly, all around it there is begging and nothing else. It has no grace about it, in fact it is ugly. Loneliness is a dependence , aloneness is sheer independence. One feels as if one is one’s whole world, one;s whole existence.

Now, if you move into a relationship when you are feeling lonely, then you will exploit the other. The other will become a means to satisfy you. You will use the other, and everybody resents being used because nobody is here to become a means for anybody else. Every human being is an end unto himself or herself. Nobody is here to be used like a thing, everybody is here to be worshiped like a king. Nobody is here to fulfill anybody else’s expectations, everybody is here just to be himself, to be herself. When you move according to your loneliness you will fall into a relationship with somebody who is in the same plight, because nobody who is really living for his or her aloneness will be attracted to you.
You will be too far above them. They can at most sympathize, but cannot love you. One who is at the peak of aloneness can only be attracted toward someone who is also alone. So whenever you act according to your loneliness you will find a person of the same type; you will find your own reflection somewhere.

First become alone. First start enjoying yourself, first love yourself. First become so authentically happy that if nobody comes it doesn’t matter. You are full, overflowing. If nobody knocks at your door it is perfectly ok – you are not missing anything. You are not waiting for somebody to come knock at the door. You are home – if somebody comes, good, beautiful. If nobody comes, that too is beautiful and good. Now you move like a master, not a beggar. Now you move like an emperor, not a beggar. “2-sides

I am ever present and my senses aware..

I am ever present and my senses aware..

As I walk alone thru Bishops park on a quiet Autumn Sunday morn, upon my return from finding fresh croissants and a warm cappuccino I stop to become one with nature.

I slow my breathing and let time come to rest, I am ever present and my senses aware..

To hear their enchanting lullaby of rustling leaves, creaking trunks and the melody of the wind thru ever reaching branches. I am ever present and my senses aware..

To taste the moisture in the air with the subtle hint of rain to come and hath been passed… I am ever present and my senses aware..

To smell the fresh grass and aroma of the forest, the multitude of scents and spices of seasonal change. I am ever present and my senses aware..

To touch and feel the crisp chill air upon my cheek, it remind thee of the seasons and their change… I am ever present and my senses aware..

To see the brightness of light greens to dark greens, the slow transition of yellows and reds to the bursting oranges of Autumn. The stalwart greys and browns of mighty trunks that will guard thru the coming cold. I am ever present and my senses aware..

I have an enlightening moment at the wonder and assortments of all that is seen, heard, touched, tasted and smelled. One is overcome with Love and Gratitude for all that is..

 For so it is….

I am…

True Love

True Love is like an intricate weave of mist… Best to not lean on it nor try to hold on or attempt to control it lest you disrupt its natural beauty… For mist cannot be held or controlled.. Let it go… Let go to Love and to each other.. Release.. Think, feel and say.. ” I Love you.. I want you to be what you want to be… I wouldn’t want you in a cage.. to be a bird without song, but to be free to fly as thou wish, let the currents of life take thee” Detachment of what you love and letting each other be free is blissful… Unconditional Love is letting go and accepting everything and judging nothing… Love is all a fantastic illusion, and like a mist it can dance, surround and envelop us with its magical touch… Embrace and bask in its Beauty, Freeform and Mystery…. Paramount is to enjoy the utter reality of Love that is Now. As all things dissipate and change.

~inspired by Alan Watts, life lessons and many a good poet…

P.S This is extremely difficult and may include deep heartache, possible despair and utter Peace and Happiness. Compounded by fits of laughter and tears of Joy
