What an amazing event–but what else did you expect from such an amazing group of people? When you visit the LifeRollsOn website, one of the first things you notice is that there are something like six million people in the US alone that are living with spinal cord injuries. Think about that. And all that Life Rolls On is asking of us is to participate however we can to bring joy, smiles, and love to those people whenever and wherever we can.
That very desire to serve others, smile with your soul and do good things is exactly what September 15th 2012 on the beach in San Diego was all about for Anthony Clavien, Dmari Von Lintel who invited him, Alice Hagg, Rob Kirkland, and the rest of the beautiful souls who joined Life Rolls On that day–which is exactly why Equilibrium Labs will be sponsoring this event every year to make sure it comes back again and again to San Diego.
“[Doing this] makes our souls smile,” says Victor Webster. As they say, the proof is in the pudding, and you can see all the evidence that all is right in the world when you look into the eyes and smiles at the last They Will Surf Again event of the year.
As one of the volunteers, Dave King, noted, “Life Rolls On and They Will Surf Again are the best things I have ever done. What I give is only a fraction of the emotional return I receive.”
There truly is no gift greater than the ability we are given to be able to give to those who enter our lives–whether we are able to understand the reasons why we are all brought together or not, there is a magical essence that surrounds people and events like these. And while that feeling may not be describable, it is palpable and real, and adds an immeasurable amount of goodness to how you feel, how you behave, and how you perceive life.
It’s our hope that you’ll be inspired to go do good. There seems to be a common misunderstanding out there that in order to give you must take away from yourself or someone else. Nothing could be further from the truth. To give only increases abundance, it never depletes it. So enjoy life, party, have fun, be yourself, and give back–a charitable heart is an essential component to a life fully lived.
